Wow! Spring break is almost here in Atlanta. I know a few of my friends who live in Florida is enjoying their Spring break right now. Well, if you don’t already have travel plan to go out of town, check out these family favorite attractions in Atlanta for Spring Break that are always a good bet when it comes to entertain kids on a break. You can visit one for each day of the break and you are all set!

1. Imagine It! Children Museum

One of family favorite museum in Atlanta, the Imagine It! Children Museum is a fun place for kids to learn, explore and just be kids. Check out their calendar of events as there are always fun things going on in the museum.

What I also love about Imagine It! is the seasonal exhibit that change every quarter. It gives kids new thing to learn about. Right now Cyber Chase: The Chase is On! is a new exhibition that I know my daughter will love!

Imagine It! Children Museum Information:

Address: 275 Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW, Atlanta, GA 30313-1827

2. Zoo Atlanta

I think Spring is a perfect season to visit Zoo Atlanta! The weather is still warm enough to enjoy outdoor activities and yet cool enough that you won’t get heat stroke walking in the Zoo.

It’s a shame that we haven’t been back to the Zoo since we first visited when we just moved here 3 years ago! I know.. Maybe this year we will make it back there.

The Zoo Atlanta knows how to handle kids during Spring break because they already have many fun plans for kids to do if you visit during the break. What caught my eyes is the new family fun program called ‘Zoo’s Clues’. Zoo’s Clues, a brand-new wildlife detective activity for families, begins on Friday, April 2. Visit Detective Headquarters or Member Services to pick up a mystery sheet, and try to crack the case at clue stations in the Zoo.

Zoo Atlanta Information:

Address: 800 Cherokee Avenue SE, Atlanta, GA

3. World of Coca-Cola

Whose kids don’t like to drink soda? Ok.. Don’t answer me that because it will make me feel like such a bad mom for letting them to even set foot to the Taste It! room in the World of Coca-Cola. But seriously! I think the Taste It! room is a great cultural learning experience for kids and adults. It gives us the opportunity to taste what people in the other parts of the world enjoy.

World of Coca-Cola Information:

Address: 121 Baker Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30313-1807

4. Georgia Aquarium

Georgia Aquarium is probably one of the top attractions in Atlanta. So keep in mind that you might plan to go there at the same time as other thousands families who also have a break.. Just a thought! I have been to the Georgia Aquarium a few times already and every time I feel like I don’t have enough time! It’s HUGE.

There are several favorites moment in the Georgia Aquarium that I would love to go back and visit there again in a heart beat. You know what will be even cooler? If I can have a sleepover in the Aquarium. Wait! I can.. Check out the 2010 calendar for families sleepover dates.

Georgia Aquarium Information:

5. Atlanta Botanical Garden

Spring has sprung! And it’s time to visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden. I have to admit that I didn’t really think the Botanical Garden will be fun for kids. But after check out their website and I see so many classes provided for kids and family. I’m convinced that this will one of a must-see destination for my kids. Especially, the soon to be opened Canopy Walk. I

World of Coca-Cola is one of the main family-friendly attraction in Atlanta.
I have a chance to visit their new gig a few months ago and I’m impressed! The place is more fun and kid-friendly that I originally thought. There are fun movie to get you started at the Happiness Factory theater.
My kids’ favorite will have to be the Taste It! station. Ok.. Ok.. It’s my favorite too. How often can you get to taste drinks from around the world in one place?

Another reason World of Coca-Cola is a perfect attraction for family who live in Atlanta or plan to visit Atlanta is its prime location. It sits right across from Georgia Aquarium and across the street from Imagine It! Children Museum and Centennial Olympic Park. I mean it’s a great place to visit with a whole family and very convenient to other attractions as well.

Now, I don’t want to spoil all the fun for you when you visit yourself by giving all the detail of what else is there. You just have to visit and check them out.

The World of Coca-Cola has been opened for a couple years now and we just recently went there to check it out. I have to say that I wasn’t expected much from this trip. I didn’t think the kids will enjoy it as much as I will. But I was surprised by how much fun they had during this visit. Here is the highlight from our trip.

When we first walked in, we waited at the Lobby and were greeted by these giant coke bottles with amazing details from different places around the world. After a short wait, we entered the Coca-Cola loft. The loft was a holding place before we headed to the Happiness Factory Theater. We played trivia games so it didn’t seem like a long time while we waited for the short film. I think the short film was really cute and shown us the glimpse of what goes inside each bottle.

After the short film, we walked through the door (which was so cool because it was behind the screen) to the Hub where we waited in line to meet the Polar bear. But if your kids are not into big Polar Bear then you can just skip and head to other areas. The next stop was the Milestone of Refreshment. I wish I could give more insight experience but Mr. Z just zoomed through the whole thing with just a little stop at the air pressure machine. But the Bottle at Works stopped us on the track. Mr. Z and Miss J were so amazed by the machine. It was so cool to see the machine in the work.

After spending a really long time at the bottle works, we went to the 4-D theater. A warning for parents with young kids, this show had a lot of movement that could scare little kids. There were a few kids crying during our show. Mr. Z was doing pretty well. So I would say if your kids are 5 or younger you might want to consider their roller coaster tolerance. Ok. Back to the movie. It was a really cool and fun movie. The 4-D effects were fun and engaging. It was one of our favorites.

So what’s our next favorite thing here.. Of course, the Taste it! room. I loved that the station is grouped into regions. I couldn’t tell you which one was my favorite because there were too many. But of all the drinks, both Mr. Z and Miss J gravitated toward the classic coke. After oh.. several rounds of drink that were too many to count, it was time to check out the store. But we didn’t forget to pick up our souvenir. Overall, it was a fun family outing. But I would think kids younger than 4 or 5 might not appreciate it as much as older kids.

4-D Theater - What a fun show. We have been to Disney countless time and I could say that this 4-D show is as good as the ones in Disney World. The story was fun and the 4-D parts were exciting.

Taste it! - Well, it’s one of the main reason we want to visit the World of Coca-Cola. It likes a cultural journey with coke products. Different regions of the world sure have different taste in their beverage. I noticed that Asian tends to love more sweet and fruity taste while in Europe the taste was more on the bitter and strong side. Very interesting!
