REI store is not your typical store. It likes you step into a totally different experience of outdoor world. We recently stopped by REI Perimeter to check out some camping gears.. Yes.. People you heard that right. We are going camping. It might start off at our backyard but eventually (if we succeed in our first attempt) we will venture out further. Anyhow, as soon as we got inside the store the kids were all excited to try out the tent that on display. What a great way to get kids excited about outdoor activity. I think they haven’t stopped asking about it yet and that was 4 days ago!
Even if you don’t plan to do any real camping soon, a visit to REI store during one of the free kid friendly event might be a good outing for kids. Here what they have in stores.
1. Traveling Near and Far
Join REI experts for informative clinic on what to pack, how to pack it and some great places to go. There will also be PEAK activities for younger kids. PEAK stands for Promoting Enrionmental Awareness in Kids. It’s a fun, free and interactive program teaching a seires of educational games and fun activities.

2. Storytelling and S’Mores
Join REI for an afternoon fun with kid for camp style storytelling, educational games, fun activities and s’mores. Sitting on the sleeping bags, listening to camping inspired stories and learning about Leave No Trace. After that, enjoy the s’mores made fresh over the camp stove.

3. PEAK Presentation
PEAK stands for Promoting Environmental Awareness in Kids. This is a fun, free and interactive program aiming to teach a seires of educational games and fun activites about the importance of leaving no trace when out camping and how to be environmentally aware in the outdoors.
