A little bit about me

Hello, I’m Amy – the creator and author of Atlanta With Kid. I am a working mom living in a suburb of Atlanta with 2 wonderful and active little monkeys – Miss J and Mr. Z. I was born and raised in Thailand and moved here to pursue higher education but I received more than I bargained for. I met my husband, Mr. Rojo.   Two kids, two dogs, and 15 years later, I am still happily here.

We moved to Atlanta from Florida in 2006. We love living in the northern suburb of Atlanta. Atlanta is a great city with so many things to do.  Also, it is in a great location that allows us to visit other states surrounding Georgia.

About Atlanta With Kid

I first started blogging at my travel blog – The Q Family Adventures. It was started as a travel journal for our family vacation. But after a while, I found that I was writing more about things I did with our kids over the weekend while participating in events around Atlanta.

Eventually, I decided to start a new blog specifically for families who live in Atlanta or who want to visit Atlanta. I wanted to highlight the fun things to do with kids, places to eat or to plan a great weekend getaway from the city.

See!!! I love to travel and love to find fun things to do with my kids. But we don’t live the high life on our salaries. So I am always on the lookout for FREE or CHEAP events around Atlanta. And believe me, we have plenty!

I blog with my family in mind. No one pays me to write anything on MY blog. So I only post events or activities that I think my family or other families with kids will be interested in.

I always welcome tips or email from readers if they find any fun events. However, I still reserve the right to choose what to post. Remember (nudge.. nudge..)  this is MY blog. :)

Now let’s talk a bit mumbo jumbo business of disclosure

Oh! And about the name. Mr. Rojo, who is always trying to correct my grammar, asked, “Why no ’s’ in kid?” Unfortunately, someone took the atlantawithkids name and did nothing with it.  So, until I am able to purchase that site from said person (please not too much money.. see statement above about being cheap) or the name just magically becomes available, we are stuck with ‘atlantawithkid’

- If or when I receive discounted or free admission to any particular event, I will ALWAYS mention as such in each individual post. So if I don’t mention it, it means we paid for those tickets out of our own pocket. Hey! But you can always click on my Google Ad on the side to support our outing. ;)

- My review of each attraction is that.. MY personal experience. I will give you my honest opinion on my experience. I hope you do enjoy my review and in a way it will help in your decision, however, I can’t be held responsible if you don’t have the same experience. I am not trying to create the World According to Amy here.  I’m just trying to share my view.

- I post the events with as much information as I can possible find at the time of posting. However, sometimes things change. Please verify the information from the event website for accuracy. Now if you find any errors, please do not hesitate to leave me a comment or email me or tweet me.

- I am in no way responsible for any problems that occur while participating in activities or events recommended on this site.  Darn the sue happy folks out there that made me make this statement…
